WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

During animation workshops we will focus on acting for feature films. We will talk about workflow covering the briefing from the director, how to set up a shot with riggers and the puppets, looking for live action reference, block the shot, checking how camera and lighting can help you and more and more until get your shot approved!

ABOUT THE TUTOR:

Born and raised under the endless summer in Brazil, I've been involved in many creative projects as a stop-motion animator such as the Oscar nominated feature films "Isle of Dogs" by Wes Anderson and "Kubo and the Two Strings" by the acclaimed studio Laika. 
 
Before entering the world of feature films, I've animated on several commercials, TV Series  and short films including the Cannes Gold Lion-winning "War on Drugo".
 
From a stop motion perspective, I run workshops that  covers the process of character development and the breakdown of a shot from start to finish. Using examples from my work focusing on the subtleties of acting in animation, I've been doing lectures and talks on institutions like BAU - Design College of Barcelona, Spain, and  Faculty of Fine Arts in Bergen, Norway. I'm currently animating on Guillermo Del Toro’s Netflix film ‘Pinocchio’.
